Collage Nation #1

The method and art of ‘Collaging’ is to use various found images (ie. already printed/ published visuals) and juxtapose them together in a way to create a new artistic manifestation. The nature of ‘Collages’ are that the found images, when juxtaposed, are meant to look mismatched, disproportionate¬†and seemingly ‘not meant to be’. However, I find that it is most exciting to compose such visual elements into the most aesthetically pleasing way.

‘Collaging’ originated from the German ‘Dadaist’ movement during the Post WWII period.

Below is a series of photographic documentation of my collage works for my upcoming school projects.

Collage is a messy business. Sometimes you create categories to pile your images into. But soon enough your category is not enough so you create sub-categories and then sub-sub- categories, which then becomes confusing.
