Medical Illustration Attempt #1

I have never been formally trained at all and only started drawing more intently, maybe, just over a year ago when I started my course.

Medical Illustrations especially from the early 21st Century are appealing to me due to the fact that the simple technique of hatching and cross-hatching can generate such detailed drawings and etchings. It is essentially just strokes and strokes of line drawn right next to each other (though varying in density and spacing).

Below is my first attempt at ‘Medical Illustrations’ (‘Heart’ 2016). Although, not quite an accurate portrayal of the human heart, I feel that I am starting to get the hang of cross-hatching.
