— Ongoing Project — Stay tuned for updates too! —
One afternoon my mother asked me whether I could design some contacts cards for her, just so that she could give them to her friends. I was ‘sure’. My mother kept the design/ project brief very opened. The main considerations were that she didn’t want colours that were too vibrant and she wanted a somewhat ‘elegant’ vibe to her cards but without being ‘dated’ or ‘old fashioned’.
I decided to draw a custom artwork for my mother’s cards featuring a flower that will be on the back of her cards. The reference I used for the drawing was my handmade paper weight prototype I made late last year for a unit at school:
I originally wanted to draw the whole composition of the paper weight but decided to keep it simple and only draw one part of it. I felt that the drawing was quite nice just like that.
